About Spur

Spur Intelligence helps security, fraud, and risk teams understand the true context behind IP addresses, including VPNs, residential proxies, bots, anonymized infrastructure, and location signals. Our data helps organizations detect hidden risk, investigate abuse, and make better decisions about traffic that may otherwise appear legitimate.

About the Role

Spur is seeking a Content Marketing Manager to help turn complex IP intelligence, threat infrastructure, fraud, and cybersecurity topics into clear, credible, campaign-ready content.

This is a hands-on content execution role that combines editing, promotional writing, content repurposing, AI-assisted content development, web publishing, and intermediate design/layout skills. Much of Spur’s technical source copy will come from product marketing, researchers, executives, and other subject matter experts. The Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for shaping that material into polished, accurate, audience-ready assets.

This role requires someone who can think like an editor, package like a marketer, and execute with the polish of a visual communicator. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in writing and editing, the judgment to think critically about complex source material, and the creative ability to promote technical content in ways that are clear, compelling, and aligned with Spur’s brand.

Work output will include landing pages, email campaigns, social posts, webinar promotions, blog posts, research articles, white papers, video scripts, sales enablement materials, infographics, and repurposed content. Topics may include VPN and proxy detection, residential proxies, IP geolocation, bot detection, account abuse, fraud prevention, anonymized traffic, remote worker fraud, threat infrastructure, and the role of IP intelligence in security and fraud workflows.

The Content Marketing Manager will report to the VP of Digital Marketing and work closely with product marketing, growth marketing, sales, customer-facing teams, internal SMEs, and external agencies or consultants. As part of a geographically distributed organization, the ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator, self-motivated contributor, detail-oriented editor, creative marketer, and organized collaborator.

Responsibilities

  • Review, edit, and refine technical source copy from product marketing, researchers, executives, and other subject matter experts.
  • Write clear promotional copy for landing pages, email campaigns, webinar promotions, social posts, paid campaigns, and related campaign assets.
  • Develop new content by drawing from internal research, existing Spur content, product documentation, webinars, sales call insights, SME input, and credible external sources.
  • Use AI/LLM tools responsibly to support research, outlining, drafting, editing, synthesis, and repurposing while maintaining accuracy, originality, technical credibility, and brand consistency.
  • Support campaigns around webinars, research reports, white papers, product launches, events, customer stories, and partner initiatives.
  • Repurpose long-form assets into derivative content such as social posts, emails, landing pages, short-form articles, sales enablement materials, summaries, and visual assets.
  • Create and optimize content for SEO, generative engine optimization / LLM visibility, buyer education, and campaign performance.
  • Manage web content updates in Sanity and ensure published content is accurate, well-formatted, and aligned with Spur’s brand voice.
  • Create and format polished content assets using tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar design/layout platforms.
  • Help maintain editorial calendars, campaign timelines, content inventories, and performance-informed content priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of content marketing experience. Exceptional candidates with slightly less experience but strong writing, editing, design, and B2B technology samples will be considered.
  • Strong foundational writing and editing skills, with the ability to improve source copy, clarify complex ideas, and adapt content for different channels and audiences.
  • Experience writing promotional copy for landing pages, email campaigns, social posts, webinars, gated assets, and demand generation programs.
  • Ability to think critically about source material, identify what matters, ask good questions, and turn complex input into clear, useful content.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI/LLMs responsibly without sacrificing accuracy, originality, or brand consistency.
  • Intermediate design and layout skills, including the ability to create clean, polished content assets, slides, PDFs, social graphics, infographics, and landing page layouts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, and modern design/layout tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce final, publishable work with minimal oversight.
  • Proven ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in B2B technology, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, threat intelligence, identity, or infrastructure-related markets.
  • Experience creating or supporting content for SEO, LLM visibility, buyer education, demand generation, and campaign performance.
  • Comfortable working with SMEs and source material such as research notes, webinars, product documentation, sales call insights, customer stories, analyst reports, and third-party research.
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms; experience with Sanity preferred.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Marketo or similar systems preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Work Samples

Work samples will be required as part of the interview process. Relevant samples may include landing pages, email campaigns, social posts, webinar promotions, blog posts, research articles, white papers, sales enablement materials, infographics, slide decks, PDFs, or other designed content assets.

Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they created or edited the samples, what source material they worked from, whether AI tools were used, and how they ensured accuracy, quality, and brand consistency.

What Success Looks Like

  • You can turn technical source material into accurate, polished, audience-ready content.
  • You can write promotional copy that makes complex topics accessible and compelling without oversimplifying or overhyping.
  • You can use AI tools effectively without outsourcing your judgment, creativity, or responsibility for accuracy.
  • You can adapt one idea or asset into multiple formats for different channels and audiences.
  • You can create visually organized, professional-looking assets without requiring design support for every execution.
